Croatia and Serbia were trading tit-for-tat measures 24 September escalating their row over who is responsible for channeling tens of thousands of refugees which way across the Balkans, with Croatia banning all Serbian vehicles from entering its soil. Serbia’s border with Croatia has become the latest flashpoint in Europe’s refugee crisis as migrants sought alternative routes to Western Europe after Hungary slammed its doors shut. Hungary on 15 September sealed the last gap in the barricade along its border with Serbia, closing the passage to thousands of refugees and migrants still waiting on the other side and some groups decided to pass over Croatia.
